Purchasing a markmakers Card
- How do I purchase a mm card?
Click the "purchase mm card" tab.
- Can I purchase several cards at one time for different recipients?
Yes.
- Is my mm card purchase tax deductible?
Fully, including the 7% service fee.
- What is the minimum amount I can place on a mm card?
$10.00
- Does a young person need their own e mail address to receive a mm card?
No. You can print out the card and personally deliver by mail or in person or transmit the card number over the phone. Alternatively, you can send send a card to someone in the young person's household that has an email address, and they can give to the child.
- Will I receive a receipt and confirmation of my purchase?
Yes.
- How can I review my mm card purchase and donation history?
At time of purchase you will prompted to supply us with an email address and password. This automatically establishes an account in your name. Click the "my account" tab to review all of your card purchases and donations.
- How do you protect the security of my personal and credit card information?
We don't maintain your credit card information on file. All data is securely transmitted through Rapid SSL (Secure Socket layer).
- Do you protect my privacy and the privacy of the young people using the site?
We do not supply the name or any personal information of any markmakers card purchaser or card recipient to any organization or entity ( including the organizations receiving funds from us a result of card recipient allocation decisions). Your card purchase and the allocation choices of any young person will remain private and anonymous.
- What is a recurring gift?
With a recurring gift, a new markmakers card will be emailed to the recipient monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. For example, if you wish to give a $25 gift quarterly, the recipient will automatically receive a $25 markmakers card every 3 months for one year. Your credit card will be billed for the full amount (all installments) at time at the time of purchase.
- Can I cancel or make a return of a mm card purchase?
No. You purchase is a charitable contribution to markmakers. No returns, credits or refunds are available.
- How can I make a donation to support markmakers?
Yes. We would be grateful for your support. Click the "support markmakers" or make a contribution during the card purchase process.
- Can I buy a mm card for myself?
Yes.
- How does a mm card get to my designated recipient?
At your choice, we will automatically email it to your recipient , or you can print it and take care of delivery yourself.
- How do I know that my gift arrived?
You should confirm receipt by following up with the youngster or parent. We recommend that you let the recipient or parent know that the gift has been sent and to look for an email with the subject line: "a markmakers gift card for you."
- What do I do if the card recipient did not receive their mm card?
You can go to your "my account" and resend via email, print a copy of the card and welcome letter and send it on to the youngster or simply relay the account number to them. That is all they will need to fully enjoy your gift.

- When a young person allocates mm card funds to a particular cause, how do the funds get to the right place?
We distribute the funds each month to the relevant organizations and charities.
- What is the minimum amount that can be allocated to a particular cause or need?
$1.00.(This affords a youngster, with even a $10.00 card, the opportunity to allocate funds among a variety of causes.)
- How can I review my markmakers distribution choices and history?
At their option, at "shopping " checkout, a young person can establish a "my account" and track, over time, the amount of their distributions, the causes they supported and the organizations providing the relevant goods and services.
- If I want to distribute more money than I have on my mm card, can I add funds to my card?
Yes. At checkout, using a credit card, additional funds can be added to cover distributions that exceed the markmakers card's value.
- Can I edit or change my allocation decisions?
Yes. A shopping cart can always be edited to take into account overspending or a changed mind.
- If the funds on a mmcard are not allocated, what happens to them?
After 12 months the funds will be distributed evenly among all of the charities and causes at the markmakers store. We will remind the card purchaser and recipient (via email) at 11 months of any undistributed card balance.

Troubleshooting....What to do if....?
- My designated card recipient did not receive their mm card sent via email, what do I do?
Go to "my account" and access your purchase records. The account number and card amount are available for each of your card purchases. Simply resend via email (click the mail icon) or print the card (print icon) and pass it, or the account number, on to the recipient through any method of your choosing. If you are concerned that your recipient may have an email filter that blocks certain emails (some workplace email accounts do), you can resend the card to your own email address (instead of the recipient's) and then forward it from your own email address to him/her.
- I specified the wrong e mail address for my recipient and as a result they didn't receive the card.
Go to your "my account." The account number, recipient and card amount are available for each purchase. Just click the mail icon. To resend the card and letter, simply supply a new (or corrected) email address. In "my account," you can also print the card and letter (use the print icon) and deliver on your own.
